Oh, you lucky New Yorkers. Although I love SF, New York is the ultimate playground for food lovers. Every inch of Manhattan is littered with tasty eats that are ready to be discovered around each corner. During my latest trip over Memorial Day weekend, I had the opportune chance of stumbling across the Dessert Truck at 11pm on Saturday night. (Okay…realistically, I had scanned NYMag and researched which places to visit a couple days before boarding Virgin America.)
The story of the Dessert Truck would make a business school student swoon. Friends Chris Chen, a Bschool student at Columbia, and Jerome Chang, a former pastry chef at Le Cirque, got together to create this sweet mobile paradise. The Dessert Truck is a renovated postal truck parked outside of the NYU dorms at 8th Street and University Place. On this particular night, I chose to devour the Chocolate Molten Cake with a warm, gooey center, roasted pistachios and the faintest hint of sea salt and olive oil. The memory of the intense dark chocolate and sprinkles of sea salt is still dancing on my tongue. Just remember: bring milk and a friend
